How to Download, Save, and Share Your Photos from Your Pixieset Gallery

You’ve Received Your Pixieset Gallery — Now What?

Your photos are ready! ✨
Whether we captured newborn snuggles, family connections, or quiet moments of presence, I want you to feel completely confident downloading and using your images.

This post walks you through everything you need to know — from how to download your Pixieset gallery, to saving your photos on your phone or computer, and sharing them beautifully online.

Step 1: Accessing Your Pixieset Gallery

When your gallery is ready, you’ll receive a link via email. Click the link to open your Pixieset gallery.

If you see a prompt for a download PIN, that’s your unique code for securely accessing your images — it’s listed in the email I sent.

Once you’re in, you can scroll through your gallery, click the heart icon to favorite images, or view your photos as a slideshow.

Note: If those features aren’t appearing, check that your browser and device are up to date.

Sometimes a quick refresh helps!

Step 2: How to Download Photos from Pixieset

You can download the entire gallery or individual images, depending on what you’d like to do.

To Download the Entire Gallery

  1. Click the Download icon (a downward arrow).

  2. Enter your download PIN if prompted.

  3. Choose High Resolution for best quality.

  4. Pixieset will bundle your photos into a .zip file and begin downloading.

    • If your internet connection is slow, this may take a few minutes.

Once the download finishes, locate the file in your Downloads folder.

Note: It can be nice to save your images to at least 2 places such as your computer and a hard drive and/or the cloud.

To Download Individual Photos

  1. Hover over (or tap) the image you want.

  2. Click the Download arrow icon below it.

  3. The image will save directly to your device.

💡 Tip: If you’re using your phone, download a few images at a time rather than the entire gallery — it’s quicker and easier to manage.

Step 3: Opening a .Zip File

When you download all your photos, they arrive as a compressed folder ending in “.zip.”
Here’s how to open it on different devices:

On a Mac

  • Double-click the .zip file — it will automatically unzip into a folder with all your images.

  • The new folder will usually appear next to your original .zip file.

On a PC (Windows)

  • Right-click the file and choose Extract All.

  • Select where you want to save your images.

  • Click Extract, and your folder will open automatically.

On an iPhone or iPad

  • Tap the downloaded file in your Files app → Downloads.

  • Tap Preview Content to see your images.

  • Tap Share → Save Images to move them into your Photos app.

On an Android Phone

  • Find the file in your Downloads or Files app.

  • Tap the .zip file — most Androids will automatically unzip it into a folder.

    • If not, tap and hold → choose Extract or use a free app like Files by Google.

  • Open your Gallery or Photos app → tap Add photos or Import to save them to your main photo library.

Step 4: Saving Photos to Your Library

Once you’ve unzipped your folder, it’s time to move your images to your preferred photo library so they’re easy to find and back up.

For Apple Users (Mac or iPhone)

  1. Open the Photos app.

  2. On a Mac: go to File → Import → select your unzipped folder → click Review for Import.

  3. On an iPhone: open the Files app, select your photos, tap Share → Save Images.

They’ll appear in your Photos app and sync with iCloud automatically if you have it enabled.

For PC Users

  1. Open the Photos app (built into Windows).

  2. Click Import → From a Folder.

  3. Find your unzipped photo folder and select it.

  4. Choose the images you want to add, then click Import Selected.

For Android Users

  1. Open your Gallery or Photos app.

  2. Tap the + or Import button.

  3. Navigate to your downloaded photo folder.

  4. Select the images you want to add, then tap Done or Import.

You can also organize your favorites into albums (like Family Session 2025 or Sara Marie Photos).

Step 5: Back Up Your Images

Backing up your photos ensures they’ll stay safe even if your phone or computer changes.

Recommended options:

  • External hard drive or USB drive – ideal for long-term storage.

  • Cloud backup – iCloud, Google Photos, or Dropbox automatically protect your files.

  • Prints and albums – tangible memories that don’t rely on technology.

💡 Bonus Tip: You can order professional-quality prints directly from your Pixieset gallery. The color and paper quality are unmatched compared to typical print shops.

Step 6: How to Share Photos on Social Media

Once your images are saved, sharing them is easy and fun!
Here’s how to do it while keeping them beautiful and honoring your photographer’s work.

Instagram & Facebook Tips

  • Use high-quality images: Upload the high-resolution files (Pixieset automatically optimizes them).

  • Tag me: @saramariestudio — I love seeing your posts!

  • Photo credit: Add a quick note like “Photography by Sara Marie Miller or @saramariestudio.”

  • Story sharing: Vertical shots work best for Stories and Reels.

  • Caption idea: Tell a little about your experience or what this season means to you! Your realness resonates and it can be fun to remeber details from the day through your own storytelling.

For Android Users Posting from Google Photos

  1. Open the photo in Google Photos.

  2. Tap Share → Instagram / Facebook / Messages.

  3. You can also create albums or shared links for family and friends.

Step 7: Troubleshooting Common Issues

If something isn’t working smoothly, try these quick fixes:

  • Images won’t download: Refresh the page or use a different browser (Chrome and Safari work best).

  • File didn’t unzip: Make sure the download completed fully before opening.

  • Photos missing in your library: Check your “Recents” or “Downloads” folders — your device may sort by date taken.

  • Phone storage full: Try downloading only your favorites or move older photos to cloud storage.

Still stuck? I’m happy to help — just send me an email and we’ll walk through it together.

Step 8: Celebrate and Share the Love 💛

Your gallery is more than a collection of photos! It’s a story of this moment in your life.
I’m so honored to be part of it.

If you loved your experience, leaving a review or tagging me when you share helps others find their way here and supports my small business deeply.

Leave a review here: kind words

Thank you again for trusting me to hold these moments — whether it’s your growing family, a new season of life, or simply your beautiful everyday.

With love and gratitude,
Sara Marie
