Doula Client Testimonial

“Sara was absolutely brilliant with our preemie twins. She skillfully handled both of them and taught us quite a few things that helped us soothe them and helped us on our feeding and sleep journey with them. I’m convinced that they are giving us longer stretches of sleep now because of some tricks she taught us and the confidence I had in pursuing them because they worked so well for her! She was attentive to their individual needs and was a great communicator. Her warmth, respect and kindness towards us parents was greatly appreciated and we were sad we couldn’t have her more. She was a welcome ear. Those nights of sleep were so precious and having someone we totally trusted to handle things all night was invaluable. Do it if you can!” -Ariel

Do you need a good night of sleep? I focus my postpartum care on overnight support. Getting deep sleep speeds up postpartum recovery and is one key to flourishing relationships. When you sleep at night it sweetens family dynamics, and everything flows better.

  • “Sara is kind and nurturing to her very core, and is so sincere in her passion of helping babies sleep at night. Our baby has had trouble sleeping when he isn’t held, which made it impossible to sleep through the night. Sara allowed my husband and I to catch up on our rest. Knowing she was coming over was a huge relief for us, each and every night. I’d recommend Sara 100%, she was so responsible and she really cares about the baby’s wellbeing, she also wants to be helpful to the family however possible. She was a critical component to us getting our bearings as new parents. Just knowing that someone else was tending to my baby’s needs all night so I could sleep was priceless”.

  • Thank you so much for the overnight doula support over the past weeks! We were nervous about leaving our baby while we slept but you made us feel SO comfortable. We know our baby loved spending time with you as she was always happy the next day! We are immensely thankful for all your support and wish we could have you come forever!

“I had a great portrait photography session with Sara, even though I generally don't like having my photo taken. Sara's friendly, light-hearted guidance put me at ease.

I chose to work with her because I had seen some of her other photographs. I was impressed by her creative use of props to frame or accent her subjects.

Sara's warmth put me at ease. She is very clear in giving suggestions/direction and I found that helpful. Also, Sara has a good aesthetic sense and that is why I trust her suggestions about how to pose.

Sara’s work exceeded my expectations. Before the session, I was just expecting simple headshots but I received much more. I can crop any of the photos to make them the size I want. I like having so much to choose from.

I recommend Sara for portrait photography.”

“I'm welling up at the beauty and meaning behind these photos. In the midst of exciting yet bittersweet transitions both for the shop and for all our personal lives, a handful of us were able to come together and celebrate and harvest the beautiful medicinal plant, Saint John's Wort, or Jojo. What beautiful photos @saramariestudio captured... oh my tender heart, what sweet moments.. 💛💛💛 Thank you so so much Sara Marie. All of the photos are so lovely. 🥹🌸”

Our baby has had trouble sleeping when he isn’t held, which made it impossible to sleep through the night. Sara allowed my husband and I to catch up on our rest. “Sara is such a kind, calm, loving presence, and we felt totally comfortable trusting her with our baby. If you can afford it, it is the most helpful possible thing postpartum. She switched seamlessly from supporting breastfeeding to formula feeding with no judgement, and gave us lots of great advice on caring for our baby. When our baby got a little older, she starting working with her on longer stretches of sleep, and gave us advice on how to continue that. I'm not a first time mom, and we did eventually hire a postpartum doula with my first child to help us get some more sleep, and learn how to better care for the baby. This time I knew I wanted someone from the start, because the first few weeks are so hard, and getting some longer stretches sleep can make such a huge difference. So I wasn't fearful about sleep deprivation, because I knew Sara would help us with that.”

She's super reliable and trustworthy. In addition to taking care of the baby, Sara is a huge help with laundry and cooking, and has made me feel like she's happy to help w anything I need. She is also very supportive and nurturing to me as a new mother. I wish she could move in forever!”

  • postpartum care

“Sara is a kind, caring and compassionate doula, and she knows how to take care of a new Mama and her baby! Sara was accommodating, positive and always ready to tackle my to-do list. She also was great with my daughter, allowing me the flexibility to leave my house on occasion. Sara has many additional offerings which make her a unique doula. She has an incredible postpartum herbal product line, she can provide delicious gluten and dairy free lactogenic foods, she offers photo shoots with you and your little one, and she also is available as an overnight doula. I highly recommend Sara to anyone needing additional support in the first days, weeks and months postpartum!”
